North-east Family Butcher ‘Steaks’ Claim with Scotmid

An award-winning North-east family run business has won a substantial contract to supply its meat produce to a number of our Aberdeenshire stores.

The Store, which is based in Foveran, Aberdeenshire, will stock its home-reared Aberdeen Angus Beef products, including its award winning sausages, burgers, hotdogs, and a range of its finest ready meals, at stores in Laurencekirk, Bieldside and Inverbervie.

The family run business, which is run by four generations of farmers, and has its own on-site butchery, farm shop deli and coffee shop, prides itself on its ‘farm to fork’ ethos and offers 100% provenance on all its products.

Established in 2000, The Store recently celebrated its 15th birthday as well as its most successful Open Farm Sunday to date, welcoming over 2,000 guests through the farm gates for the national event.

The North-east family business has already sold over one tonne of sausages in Scotmid stores throughout July.

Andrew Booth, owner and managing director of The Store, said: “This is a huge step in the right direction for The Store. We have a strong vision of providing natural, high quality, local produce to our customers and with this new contract win, we will be able to provide our fresh products to Scotmid customers too.

“This is an exciting time for us and we have already discussed the possibility of adding new stores and new products to the ranges we already supply, which is great. We look forward to further developing our relationship with Scotmid Co-operative and its customers and showcasing our products throughout Scotland.”

Stephen Brown,Local Sourcing Manager for Scotmid, added: “We are thrilled to be launching this new partnership with The Store as part of our on-going commitment to supporting local suppliers.

“Our stores are rooted in local communities and we want to offer our customers great value products sourced from the very best local producers.”
