Emissions
In the year ended 29 January 2011, the Society produced an
estimated 2,754 tonnes of GHG (net) from onsite operations.
Gross emissions which include electricity from renewable sources
are 23,325 tonnes of GHG (2009/10 - 25,865).
Net GHG produced per employee equated to 0.65 tonnes compared to
0.76 in 2009/10.
Waste
Our waste uplift in 2010/11 amounted to 2,101 tonnes which shows
a 12.5% reduction on the previous year of 2,402. For the same year,
we estimate that we've recycled 1,658 tonnes of cardboard and 96
tonnes of plastic/paper. These figures indicate that the proportion
of waste recycled is in the region of 45% (2009/10 - 42%) of the
Society's total waste.
