The Fragrance House, the most recent business venture from Scotmid Co-operative Society, has opened in Glasgow’s Braehead shopping centre, creating eight new jobs.
Scotmid already owns Semichem, the high street's leading
discount health & beauty chain. It is hoping that the new
store, which sells prestige fragrance brands such as Prada, Hermes
and YSL, will be a big hit with Braehead shoppers.
Romeo, one of Radio Clyde 1's resident DJs, officially opened
the store and welcomed the first customers over the threshold.
Sonya Harper, The Fragrance House Operations Manager, said,
"With the opening of this store we are extremely pleased to be
launching our second store in Glasgow, building on the success of
our recently opened store in Falkirk and our other Fragrance House
stores in Glasgow's Buchanan Galleries, Livingston, Dundee,
Aberdeen and Greenock. We are actively looking to open further
stores and will do so when the right opportunities arise.
"We are also delighted to give the discernible shoppers of
Braehead a store that will provide them with the very best luxury
and prestige fragrances alongside excellent customer service levels
from a very knowledgeable team of consultants."
Braehead's General Manager, Peter Beagley said: "We're delighted
The Fragrance House has decided to open in Braehead. The store will
make an excellent addition to the wide retail offering we have at
the shopping centre. With the recent opening of Apple and
Hollister at Braehead, The Fragrance House coming to the centre
further emphasises that Braehead is the place to be when it comes
to top-of-the-range stores - whether you are a top-brand retailer,
or a shopper."
Assistant Store Manager, Janet Sutherland, said, "I am delighted
to be joining The Fragrance House team and look forward to meeting
the needs of the Braehead shoppers."
